Job Description
Role and Responsibilities:


Must be able and willing to listen and understand simple directions from his Journeyman Electrician.  Must have basic hand tool skills and knowledge of how to properly use power tools.  Must follow directions and be confident enough to ask questions if directions are not clear.  Must demonstrate good attendance and ability to get along with and work with others.  Will be required to perform tasks requested of them by their Journeyman and be able to use SWA if they don’t understand or feel unsafe.


Essential Job Functions:

Assist Journeyman electrician with all aspects of electrical installations

·         Must follow directions

·         Familiarity with our SOP’s

·         Familiarity with Safe Work Operations

·         Set up work site for daily operations

·         Keep work area free of tripping hazards and trash

·         Must learn each step of electrical installations so he can be prepared for the next step without being told

·         Good attitude

·         Be aware that as an Apprentice Electrician, he is a professional and carries himself that way

·         Work performed is always neat and professional in appearance

·         Able to ask questions when in a situation that is unfamiliar to your background

·         Know who is the customer (both internal and external (clients))

·         Practice good attendance and attitude

·         Know your craft and work well with others


Qualifications/ Skills:

·         At least 1 year of experience in the electrical industry preferable, but none required for the right applicant

·         Must have a valid Driver’s License from the State of California

·         Must be proficient with hand tool use and have some experience with power tool use


Pre-Employment Requirements:

All candidates must pass a pre employment physical examination, drug / alcohol screen, hold a valid driver’s license, pass a motor vehicle record check and be insurable through KSI’s insurance carrier, criminal background check and E-verify as a condition of successful consideration for employment.


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work in harsh weather for long periods of time. Depending on the phase of the job, all personnel are required to work in conditions where physical demands can consist of placing one’s body in various positions to inspect and to accomplish certain tasks such as:

  • Sitting
  • Standing
  • Squatting
  • Raising and Lowering objects from one level to another
  • Carrying objects, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder
  • Grasping objects with the use of fingers, palm and wrists to hold/and or manipulate objects (hammers, saws, pencils, pens etc,)
  • Pulling i.e. Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves toward the force (includes jerking)
  • Pushing i.e. Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force (includes slapping, striking, kicking and treadle actions)
  • Bending at the waist, stooping, working in a supine position, twisting seated or standing


Some of these physical requirements will range from seldom, frequent to constant depending on the task.
